Oksijen’s
Mobile Video Streaming (MVS) System enables
advanced video streaming over 2.5G and 3G mobile
networks.
Oksijen MVS enables mobile users to watch live
TV channels, video clips, news/sports highlights,
movie trailers, cartoons and comics using compatible
handsets. Unlike downloading, service users
can watch long videos or TV programs, as it
does not have to store anything in the handset.
Following are some of the
major ways by which MVS can be used
A menu can be viewed from a WAP page and subscriber’s
choice of the
TV channel or video clip can be selected from this
menu directly by browsing.
A request
can be sent via SMS, WAP or E-mail to the MVS server
and notification
message is returned back to the subscriber addressing
the related link (URL).
The subscriber starts streaming the content by clicking
the link.
Notification
message containing the URL can also be sent to users
subscribed
to specific service. Service subscriptions to the
“weekly highlights of football
games” or “fragments of new movies”
are just some of the examples.
If
subscriber already knows the URL, s/he uses this
URL directly from her/his
handset for video streaming.

When integrated with EasyBridge,
Oksijen’s multimedia services platform, MVS will
allow multi-channel (i.e. accessible over SMS, MMS,
USSD, IVR, WAP or WEB) and cross-channel (i.e. utilizes
all these technologies at the same time) value added
services to support video, to form a distinguished product
for wireless operators and service providers.
