K'cell chooses Oksijen
for its services infrastructure
Frame contract covers a number of multimedia and
messaging solutions and OSA/Parlay compliant IN
services..
Almati, Kazakhstan August 2003 - K'cell, the leading
GSM operator of Kazakhstan has selected Oksijen
as the supplier of its services infrastructure.
Oksijen has been the supplier of K'cell value added
services platforms and short message service centers
since 2002. The new frame contract covers a number
of OSA/Parlay compliant IN services and a number
of multimedia and messaging solutions, among others.
IN Services…
Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Mobile PBX are
the IN Services to be provided by Oksijen according
to the frame contract. As the first supplier to
launch a commercial OSA/Parlay compliant IN platform
in the world, Oksijen provides these services on
its own OSA/Parlay Gateway. With these services,
K'cell will extend its corporate services significantly.
While VPN service will enable K'cell corporate clients
to manage their virtual private network with many
extra features, mobile PBX service will enable corporates
to manage their call center services in a way that
they will be able to distribute their call centers
and utilise agents even when they are mobile.
Messaging Solutions…
A new short message service center to complement
the existing Oksijen SMSC, a multimedia service
center (MMSC) and a bulk messaging tool are the
messaging solutions category of the frame contract.
All these messaging solutions will be integrated
with K'cell's existing Oksijen VAS platform EasyBridge
to utilise the multimedia and text messaging technologies
not only for one-on-one messaging purposes but also
for mobile multimedia services.
Wireless Video…
One of the key components of the frame contract
is the wireless video streamer. Integrated with
the existing VAS platform EasyBridge and the Oksijen
MMSC, EasyMessenger, K'cell subscribers that always
demand the latest technology, first, will be able
to send video messages to each other and enjoy K'Cell
video services on demand or based on subscription.
IVR & VMS…
The frame contract also covers an IVR and voice
mail platform.
A joint team will be formed for the best utilisitations
of the solutions in scope. This is in line with
the partnership-based, integrated teamwork trend
with the GSM operators as they demand more control
on the platforms they purchase and they depend on
for their services.
All the products are expected to be in production
in September 2003.
"While the technical quality of Oksijen products
were key in our choice, we are also greatly pleased
with the quality of service Oksijen provides and
the approach they take with our needs working as
a part of our team. We are committed to providing
the best quality services to our customers and I
am sure they will enjoy our new services."
said Haluk Ege, K'cell Chief Executive Officer.
