Service Scenario

Subscriber forwards his line to a service number. Call Forwarding can be activated either from the handset or by calling the operators’ call center. Call forwarding can be configured to be in effect:

conditionally when he is not reachable, specifically when

he is out of coverage,

his handset is switched off,

the line is busy,

there is no answer, etc.

· when his mobile phone is switched on but when he prefers not to be reached.

All calls coming to this Service Number are forwarded to Missed Call Notification system. MCN system receives and stamps the related data for the calling number as well as the date and time. The required announcement is played to the calling party. This can be one of the existing announcements (like “the subscriber is out of coverage area”) or the operator can add a new announcement specifically for this purpose.

As a result the person who has forwarded his call to MCN number will receive an SMS message informing the subscriber about the calling number, how many calls received, date and time of the call. The format of the text message is configurable.

When a new call arrives to the same subscriber, MCN first checks the status of the previously sent SMS, if it has not been delivered yet (waiting in SMSC buffer), it removes the previous record and updates the information and sends a new record. By this way more than one call record can be included in a single short message.
